Dr. Barbara W. Lee is the Co-Pastor of Word of Truth Church Ministries (WOTCM), which she co-founded with her husband, Evangelist Kenneth Lee, in 2000. Their ministry, now a global podcast available on platforms like YouTube, iTunes, and Spotify, also hosts conferences and workshops for diverse audiences.
Ordained as ministers in 1997 and elders in 1998, the Lees received their evangelism licenses in 1999. In 2017, Dr. Lee was awarded an honorary doctorate through PACE Network.
That same year, she launched Kingdom Workforce, a WOTCM branch focusing on entrepreneurship, mentorship, and career development. Its Certified Mentorship Program began in January 2018, graduating its first cohort of certified mentors.
Dr. Lee holds a Master's in Executive Leadership Studies from Gardner-Webb University and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Mount Olive. She possesses several North Carolina educational licenses, including Principal (K-12) and Career Development Coordinator. Her accolades include the Promising Leadership Award from UNC-W and the Lorelle F. Martin & Michael Pelt Excellence in Teaching Award from UMO.
Active in her community, Dr. Lee serves on the University of Mount Olive Alumni Board, UNC-Wilmington Educators of Color Steering Committee, and the State Employees Credit Union Community Board. She is currently the Director of Career and Technical Education for Jones County Public Schools.
Dr. Lee and her husband have three sons and five grandchildren. She is the daughter of Mrs. Odell Whitaker and the late Johnny Whitaker.
